Eventually!!!!
We have finished the writing exam. I'm very happy for this because in last two day I was thinking about. I really tired about this exam. It was not though Right? I think the exam was very fair about every thing such as topic and time. I have finished my exam early, but I didn't review it. By the way, I have really bad manner and may you have a good solution for it.
When somebody finish his or her exam and submit their paper, I feel that I must finish and hand my exam. I don't know why. Do you have feel like this?
Please, if you have any good suggestion write it.
For me I wrote about the first question. The main point for me was the shor-term palnning is the reason.

I think this semester went so fast.
Don't forget we still have two exams. Work hard in rest of eaxms and forget the writing.

Weird?????

Therer are many things always happen to me, most of them abnout mu CAR ofcouse in my country. Some time I have some problems, and these problems happen when I'm alone with my car :( Here a sorty happened to me in my country.

I’ve had some trouble with my car for about 2 months. The problem is that when I take it to a repair shop the engineers tell me that my car seems ok, and when I take the engineer for a ride in my car it works perfectly! I hate it when that happens…
A friend of mine studies Auto Mechanics at a college. So, I called him and he stopped by to check it out, BUT IT WORKED FINE. We drove my car at 150 km/h and it wouldn’t overheat. I thought that mabey we need to stop a few minutes to get it to overheat, so we went to Quiznoz for dinner (we went to the farthest branch hoping that it would overheat on the way), but it still wouldn’t overheat!
The next day as I was coming back from the university, it overheated!! I called my friend and told him that my car overheated. He suggested that I take it to a very good mechanic that he knew. I took it to the mechanic and he told me what the problem was at last…weird huh?

Hi guys we almost there.

Ok. I'm donna talk about names in the world. every country has its own culture and this culture reflect on their names. there are many names in a country has a meaning or meanings in other country. most of the meanings in other country are funny or mean something baaaaaaaaaaaaad. Any way while I playing with my explore O found a website about names and their meaning around the world. There are a lot of names and I hardly laughed about some of them.

Btw, have you though about the meaning your name in your language or in other language.

Any way I found an interesting name as below.

If you thought your name was cool, then you obviously never met Batman Bin Suparman! I bet he is like the coolest kid in his class!!

Btw, Bin in Arabic means "son".

a book to read

While I was on my “trip last week” I stopped at a bookstore(chapters) to get something to read. My eye fell on this book right away. I liked the way it looked and the title also attracted me. I read the back of the book and a few pages, then I went to the starbucks inside the shop to get a cup of coffee while choosing which book to get. When I started to read this book I couldn’t let go, because of how this genious named Daniel Tammet describes his abilities, his childhood, and above all the way he thinks.
This is what he said when describing the day he was born: “I was born on 31 January 1979 - a Wednesday. I know it was a Wednesday, because it was blue in my mind and Wednesdays are always blue, like the number nine or the sound of loud people arguing”

New British coins

As I browsing the internet as usual. I found some thing interesting about coins design, and I really like them, they are like a piece of art.

All I can say is that I have never seen a better looking money! (design wise of course)
The new designs have been chosen via an open competition which was widely publicised in the national media in August 2005 and attracted 4,000 entries. The winning designer is 26-year-old Matthew Dent. He originally from Bangor who now lives and works in London as a graphic designer.

When the coins are put next to each other, they complete the design of the pourd!

HE FOOLED ME

Yesterday a friend of mine came into my apartment and gave me paper. Before I started to read the paper, he began to apologizes for what was in the paper.
So I took the paper and when read it, it had the worst news for me. My “friend” continue to apologize for what was in the paper. I turned to him and asked: “but what do you have to do with it?” So he tells me that he accidentally gave someone wrong information about me.

I got so pissed at him for what he did, I kicked him out of my apartment! How could he do this to me? I thought we were friends! Thats when he started to smile, I suspected that the papers might be a prank, but they looked too real, and this wasn’t something to joke about.
His smile got me even more angry, so I screamed at him. After all what I have done for him, this is how he repays me?! I wanted to beat him up, but he would probably beat me up…
I began to think how to get myself out of the mess he got me in. I began to write an explanation on how there was a misunderstanding. As I was typing my phone rang, and it was my “friend”. He asked me to bring him a paper he left on a chair in my office. I just hung up on him.
I was curious so I opened the paper, and it said “April Fools“. For some reason I was more angry than I was relived.
He worked on this prank for days, till he got it perfect! I played a prank on him a few months back, and this was his way of getting back at me…

Pronunciation

I spoke with different people with different background, such as cars dealers and educated people. I noticed a lot of things from my conversations. Regarding what have learned about cars or sofa, I learned something else about my speaking and listening skills. I noticed that I could understand native speakers without any problems even though they have different backgrounds. I also learned that I could figure out whether they are native or not from their accent, and what their backgrounds. I also noticed that every body understand me and I can talk as native.

However, I have some problem with the "R" and "D" sounds. For example, I have trouble to order a bottle of water, so I have to work on these sound. I also noticed that I have a little problem with "P" and "B". I can pronounce it but when I speak I just forget to concentrate.
Although I have some problems with some letters, I'm getting better. I think all the development in my pronunciation is a direct result of what we are taking in speaking and listening class.

Hi guys.

In my previous degree I had something happened to me every test.

There is certain sequence of thoughts I go through every time I get a test whether its a final exam or just a midterm:

I get the paper, I open it then I start thinking:

1- WHAT ?!?! Are these really the questions ?! Did I study for the wrong course again ?!
2- why is he doing this to us? why are the questions so hard ? and why is everyone writing like crazy?
3- thats it!! I knew it, I should have studied more yesterday instead of sitting with my cousins!!
4- I know I will fail …
5- I wonder whether he will be teaching this course next semester ?
6- You know what, try to do the hardest question since your failing anyways .
7- Oh!!! now I remember how this is done !! (so I solve it)
8- Ok, let me see what else I can do. (I solve another one)
9- Ok, let me see whether there are any question I forgot to answer ? (every thing is done)

10- why are they still writing like crazy ?
11- should I hand in my paper, or should I wait ?
12- If I stay any longer I know I will start changing my correct answers to wrong ones !!
13- just hand the paper in and go have breakfast with the guys at Subway.
14- Ok, I give up I’m handing it in…

Then someone gets up to hand in his paper, then everyone else does the same thing.

What do u thing? have u been in this situation before or similar?

My philosophy

Ok
Now I will share with you my philosophy. Actually I have a philosophy and I use it all the time. In beginning, don’t panic and dont think I'm an idiot.

Statistic shows that 60% of people around the world who have a job are working hard to earn more money and spend less time with their family or friends. (This is a fact)

All these people try to earn more money or enjoy their lives by having big houses or modern technologies…etc. they spend so much time working, thinking about their future, and they forget their lives. Forget to enjoy their lives.

I have question for those people and through these question I will explain my philosophy.
If they work a lot and spend more time in their job what next?
They will earn more money, but they are getting old
If they have more money, what next
They will have fancy life, but they are already old.
If they have a fancy life, what next So what

For me nothing because they are so old. They already lost their lives. My philosophy is
Enjoy your life now. Try to enjoy it even though you have problems. Enjoy every thing in your life.

funniest weekend

Ok this second entry. Every week I plan to post an entry, but I'm lazy hhhhhhh. Any way.

Three weeks ago, my parents came to visit me, and see what I'm doin. In that week I had so much fun. In that week we went to all possible attraction locations in Calgary and Banff. The most beautiful thin was the hot spring in Banff. We swam in this under a snow storm. It was really fun. Dog sledding was another interesting thing. I haven't done it before.

After all, that week will stay in mind for ever; it was the most beautiful week ever. After my parents had left, I felt sad. I didnt do to school, but during the following days I was getting better. The problem was the following week was the week of exams of the LEAP and my course too. It was a difficult week for me to revise all my courses and get good grades. The good new is that I'm getting better in writing skills. I'm really happy for this because I in LEAP just for improve my writing skills. I think by the time I will use my English better the my native language hhh.

I think every body would feel the same.

First of all I want to say Helllllllllllllllllllo to our instructor Scott and all my classmate.

Secondly, I'm going to write about the best way to learn English. Learn foreign language is good thing for all people who want to expand their experience and increase their knowledge. There are sever ways to learn a foreign language such as go the school or travel to a country that speaks that language. In school or outside of it are the most popular ways to learn another language, so you can learn language by one of them but your language will miss something important. For example, if you have learned a foreign language by yourself only your language will not be as good as their who went to school. As a result, combination between two of these ways is the right way to learn English or another language. The combination will give you a unique style for your new language, so you know the academic and the street language. In my opinion learn a foreign language is always good thing and you can learn it easily if you follow these ways. Actually, I've learned English by the combination of two these methods. I have faced some trouble to learn English but I overcome these problem by practice what I've learned in school in real life.

I always want to use my native language but I have to learn another to keep going with the technology and the world.

Ok if you don't. Under the roof of this gallery all the new and interesting technology joint together. I went to GitexIn Saudi Arabia and there is a wonderful, so I want to writeabout it.

I went to Gitex 2006 because. While I was walking this years Gitex and I found this interesting printer.

This 24ct Gold HP Laserjet Printer was up for auction at Gitex for a starting price at 299$!! Why did they choose a middling LaserJet and not other HP product more worthy of such opulence?via engadget
I was reading about this printer on engadget and the first comment to this post was: “I bet it still gets paper jams”

Sony Creativity !!!

Hey

During my searching on the Internet, I have found a lot of thing that very interesting, but I'm very lazy to write about it. Since we have to write 12 passage, I will write about one thing.

If you haven’t heard about Sony’s PRS-500 Reader, then I guess you may have thought that this might be another device that just reads e-books. I thought the same thing when I read about it a few months back.

What makes this device so amazing is that it doesn’t have a LCD screen! It uses a new technology called electronic paper display! It looks just like paper, the characters look really clear, and no light is being emitted from the screen, so your eyes have no trouble reading! Another great feature is that it doesn’t use it’s battery life to maintain the image of the page you’re reading!!

To make the idea simple, It’s just like using one of those old magnetic sketch boards, but the drawing is done electronically. So you you finish drawing, you get to view the image without consuming any of the battery’s life!! Really cleaver!!

I think it costs about $300

A Book I Have Read it

Hi every one.
To day I ganna write about a book I have read it, and I like it so mush.

A few months ago I went to a big bock store in Riyadh (my city) called Jarir and I got this great book called “The Alchemist” by a great Brazilian Author named “Paulo Coelho“.

The book is an international best seller, and if you read it you’ll see why. It’s about a Andalusia (one of the seventeen autonomous communities that constitute Spain) young boy that became a shepherd because he loved to travel, and being a shepherd gave him the opportunity to travel all over Andalusia. One night he saw a dream about a treasure buried in the pyramids. But what stared as a boyish adventure to travel over the world turned into a quest for the treasures only found within.

I definitely recommend it, and I have finished it. It’s not one of those books that you keep on reading hoping that it will become interesting as you go on. It’s a great story about having dreams and following them.

Big HI for evey one

I will write a srory than happened to my in my country.( not action veru very short).

I was at a cafe a few months ago, and I was abit amazed by the beautiful designs they make when pouring milk into the latte. Last year I was at a cafe in Riyadh( the capital of my country), and I was talking to barista (The guy who makes the coffee) and he said that he can make me any design I want. What he really meant was that he can make butterflies or leaves

I searched the internet for the best coffee art designs and I was amazed by what I found. Did you know that there were contests where baristas are given esspresso machines and asked to make coffee art!! one Week Lift

Hey guys

Can you imagine that there is one week left?
For me it's unbelievable. The days are running so fast. I remember the first day in EAP program and the first class when the classmate was asking each other about names, nationality, and major. Now we are in the end of our program. This takes me to thing in big scale not only for studying, but for our lives. All our lives are going fast, and some days are considered as happy, but the other days are bad or hard. When we think in our lives, we have to specify goals in every step in it. For example, three months have gone since the EAP start. What have we learned during this duration? Is it useful or not?

Because the days go very fast, Every a while of our lives we have to ask ourselves these kind of question. This is a simple example, and according to it is we have to thing in every single thing in our lives. Some of you may think I'm writing this because I'm pessimistic, but I'm very optimistic and I want to make the life better and tasteful.

I hope (or I wish>>>>I'm kidding) to all of you success in EAP and your lives.

Banff & Edmonton trip

Hi every one

I think all of you know Banff. I went to it in last weekend with my friends and it was really funny. We have spent 12 hours there. When we arrived at 10 AM, and the first thing we did was park the car(ahhhhhhhh it a joke). We reached the village or city of Banff, it is really beautiful especially the down town, because it's just like a down town in Europe( France, Germany, or Austria). The spacial thing in the down town is there are no cars allowed to enter the street, and the shops are in the both sides of it. After we finished out round in Banff village, we went to the Gondola( or something like that). We were stayed above 2,150 meter of sea level by help of The Gondola. The view there is so gorgeous. We took a lot of picture, and here some of it.

OK, in same weekend I went to Edmonton, which the capital city of Alberta. All of you know the West Edmonton Mall (WEM) is the biggest mall in North America. It was so beautiful and we had a good time there.

Ok , it’s been three months since I moved to Calgary. There is only one thing I have to say…
“There’s no place like home”. The weather here is cold, the city is really weird, but all in all, its a really fun place to be.

I'm starting to like this city (Calgary) and the weather of it. In last 2 weekend I went to Banff and Edmonton. I'll post another post with more details about my trip.

There is nothing beets an cup of black coffee in the morning followed by a white toast with butter!

Want to know thats even better than white toast? White toast with message burned on it. Sasha Tseng made a concept design for a toaster, it allows you to write a short message on the toaster, and then the toaster would burn that same message on the toast! now that’s a nice idea!

This toaster allows to everyone in family to write to others memebers. You can left a message to your sister without disturped her by a nice way.

I thing it's a nice way to write a message.

I have spent whole my life with my family in Riyadh, which mean I have not lived without my family for more 45 days. I have traveled a lot but not more two month continuously. By today I have reached 45 days with out my family. So by tomorrow I will have broken the record which I made it. I always leave my family for go to other country for tour, conference, or business and the trip ends quickly, but this is the first time I left my mother, brothers and sisters for study. I think it will be easy but when I came here and go through it, I changed my mind. studying out side your city is difficult. As a result, you have responsibility for every thing related to you. So you have the complete decision to make you life better. I faced some difficulties and I overcome these adversities but there some still bothering me. On other hand, I like Canada and Calgary. They have a very cold weather but I like it. The main thing made me strong to faced the difficulties is the class. I think I have a wonderful classmate and good teachers. I hope to everyone to successes and have a good life.
